Originally from Arizona, her life and education have spanned the United States and abroad, giving her a broad perspective she brings to every client relationship.
At American University Washington College of Law, Monique distinguished herself as Editor-in-Chief of The Modern American Law Brief, demonstrating both her scholarly excellence and her leadership capabilities. Her commitment to access to justice led her to serve as a Staff Attorney at Maryland Legal Aid, where she represented individuals navigating housing instability, custody disputes, divorce proceedings, and public benefits challenges.
That experience working alongside clients who faced significant obstacles with limited resources gave Monique a unique depth of perspective. She understands the stakes involved in family law matters — not just legally, but personally — and she channels that understanding into focused, effective advocacy for every client she serves.
Monique is admitted to practice in Maryland and Virginia and brings comprehensive knowledge of both states' family law statutes, procedural rules, and court culture.

Aysia Stockton
Associate Attorney
Aysia Stockton is a Maryland and Washington D.C.-licensed family law attorney whose background spans the courtroom, the clerk's office, and the classroom. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Aysia brings a multifaceted perspective to family law practice — one shaped by her experience on both sides of the judicial process.
After earning her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Clark Atlanta University, Aysia served as a Deputy Clerk for the Richmond General District Court for two years. That hands-on experience inside the court system gave her an invaluable understanding of court procedures, judicial expectations, and the practical realities of litigation that most attorneys never acquire.
At Appalachian School of Law, Aysia demonstrated academic leadership as an Executive Board Member of the Black Law Students Association and as a Senior Editor of the Law Journal. She earned both her Juris Master's degree in 2018 and her J.D. in 2020, then promptly passed the bar examinations in both Maryland and Washington D.C.
Prior to joining Child Custody with a Plan, Aysia practiced at Rusz Legal Services in Edgewater, Maryland, where she was recognized for her compassionate and thorough representation in divorce and custody matters. That recognition reflects the standard she sets for every client: rigorous preparation, clear communication, and a tenacious commitment to their best interests.
